🙏 Sadhu Maharaj is not interested in building big temples, projects, or institutions or to raise funds for the same. He is not after disciples or fame. He does not give re-initiation to anyone, nor does he judge or criticize anyone. He just wants to assist devotees to increase their sphurtis in their own Harinam-sadhana through Nitainam, Nitailila, and Nitaiprachar. He never solicits for funds because his only goal is Shuddha Nam. He is extremely attached to residing in Radha Kund and Ekachakra. A second outside these two dhams is tremendously agonising to him.
🙏 Sadhu Maharaj is not a cult or sect leader. He only assists devotees to surrender to Lord Nitai to attain Gaura Radha Krishna. He never projects himself as a so-called “Godman” or superior to anyone. He never tells anyone to be under him or to worship him. He never considers himself the Founder of any institution. He is a friend to everyone. In fact, he himself cleans the rooms before devotees come and serves them prasadam if he is not writing or recording. He always serves his own disciples humbly and all devotees who come to him. He tries to appreciate and praise the smallest of services done for Nitai by each and every devotee. He mentally or physically bows down to every devotee who offers obeisances to him, so that he will never think of himself as superior to anyone.
🙏 Sadhu Maharaj fully respects those who do not agree with him and does not argue with them or try to force his teachings on them. He simply lets them go on their own path. He never thinks that those who don’t practice Nitai Bhakti are inferior to him but respects them as much superior that they don’t need it because they are already qualified. He humbly maintains a distance from those who criticize his Nitai teachings and Nitaibhaktas, while respecting them as persons. He chooses to stay miles away from those devotees who have even a little political, diplomatic, duplicitous, envious, and doubtful mentality with ulterior motives. He always prefers to remain in the midst of those who have simple-hearted and doubtless faith in Nitainam, Nitailila, Nitaiprachar, Nitaibhakti, and Nitaibhaktas, even if they may be very few in number. He does not want thousands of followers to be around him. He believes that one moon is better than millions of stars.
🙏 Sadhu Maharaj is not afraid of walking away from someone who becomes repeatedly offensive and political towards Nitai and Nitaibhaktas, however close they may be, or however much they may have helped in the past. He is not afraid to lose their support because he was never after money or fame in the first place. He is completely contented with what Nitai is providing him to spread His causeless mercy. He would have never emphasized Nitainam and Nitailila but instead kept on talking only about the Hare Krishna mahamantra if he wanted to become popular among existing Gaudiya Vaishnavas. He does not care about losing everything and everyone to speak the truth about Nitaibhakti, even if others like it or not.
🙏 Sadhu Maharaj may distance himself from someone if he sees something wrong repeatedly, but he never gets angry or prejudiced towards anyone. He never speaks anything except sweet words to everyone. He does not accept intimate personal services from anyone. He does not let even his personal male assistants or close disciples to massage him or render intimate bodily services or to eat his left-overs. He does not order any disciple or anyone for that matter for any seva because his heart is torn apart by doing as it puts him in a superior position than them. He washes his own clothes and clean his own room and bathroom. He never meets or talks with any matajis alone. They have to be accompanied by male devotees or his personal assistant will be present. As per the sannyasa rules, he highly respects them as mothers and does not touch them even to give his blessings. He does not get involved in personal, family, relationship, and money matters of his disciples or any devotees. He acts purely as a spiritual guide. He is not interested in others’ mundane affairs.
🙏 Sadhu Maharaj eats very simply only once a day, many times not even that. He normally eats only seeds, not grains, and that too only from the donation of Nitaibhaktas, and also cooked by Nitaibhaktas. He sleeps on a thin sheet of hard wood on the floor. He has only a few set of clothes and belongings. He does not try to impress devotees to get cheap fame and following. He is not interested in guiding disciples of other Gaudiya gurus if their gurus do not agree with his teachings, as it may lead to confusion in the minds of these disciples.
🙏 Sadhu Maharaj has no personal money in bank accounts. Even the ashram bank accounts are not managed by him, but by his sincere and selfless disciples. So he cannot take any money from them, and use it for his own personal sense-gratification, without them knowing about it. He just guides how the donated money is to be used only in the direct service of spreading Nitainam and Nitailila for Harinamsiddhi. He makes sure that these donations don’t get used up only in ashram management or in the maintenance of families.
🙏 He has no desire to ever make money by selling or copyrighting his writings and recordings. He considers his own writings and recordings as gifts from his Guruvarga because they are based on their teachings. So he considers that selling them would be an offence to them. Therefore, he always shares them for free with everyone. He does not give special preference to those who donate money, or to those who are rich and influential. He does not discriminate between rich and poor, or male and female. He is equally affectionate and caring to one and all. He carefully avoids entanglement in any ashram management, money matters, business plans, or opportunities to get quick name and fame like meeting others gurus, speaking in public festivals, etc.
His Pranam Mantra:
nama om gaurangapadaya
sadhu iti namine.
।। निताइ ।।
हरे कृष्ण हरे कृष्ण
कृष्ण कृष्ण हरे हरे ।
हरे राम हरे राम
राम राम हरे हरे ।।
